Hi
With regards to tech fixes, have you any faith in any non-oil tech support for the systems we have now? I'm thinking alternative motor and home heating fuels based on algae for example - or are such avenues comprehensively discredited by researchers? (i'm thinking Jeremy Rifkin might be a techfixer ... )

I could also see some labor-intensive work appearing in the areas of plumbing, home insulation, recycling.

I have faith that we'll do almost anything to maintain and keep running what we do have and anything regarding maintaining the home. A huge area will be retro-fitting homes to make them more energy efficient. Cash for caulkers..... Geothermal instead of oil home heating...... recycling is a weird area because it's so energy intensive, instead, I think there will be a lot of re-engineering of product life cycles so they won't require complex recycling.

When the economy is good auto mechanics, bike repairman, handymen have a hard time collecting etc, have a difficult time collecting what is owed them. Maybe reconditioning used items, selling them for cash on the barrel head may be better. The military has to be the last resort IMO. An one side contract with poor terms for the enlistee from the start, and a contract who's terms can change without recourse at anytime

mostly we just give it away to get rid of it ...In all fairness to individuals who choose to be stewards ...who chose to dispose of things/matter in a responsible manner it is a challenge to find the current market rate for the buying and selling of post consumer commodities. The question arises "Why are the current market rates for the buying and selling of post consumer commodities missing from the public trading market exchanges?" because the businesses marketing them choose to
