This idea can also work even if you are selling products for someone else and earn your money on commission just like in a blog.
Many big business owners in the world today are looking for virtual assistants because they get to save a lot as there will be no furniture needed and they are cost effective. You can also be a virtual assistant, just like a personal assistant you will be assigned with jobs like sorting your employers mail account and maybe ,marketing their company. This idea will assure you money at least every month.
Finally, one of the oldest ways to make money on internet is, selling on eBay. This site is already filled with huge traffic which means no marketing for you but you will be required to pay a fee to eBay and sell anything you have on offer.

So, you can choose to sit down, cry and be part of the job hunting people or instead you can make money on internet and have your bank account get a thousand dollars richer every month while you are at home.

Loan modification is also free, thus it makes it easier to obtain without having to pay upfront charges. You can also modify your loans yourself, as long as you understand how it is done, and qualify for the criteria for loan modifications. It is easier to gain approval for loan modification as your credit, assets in your home as well as your employment do not come under scrutiny like how refinancing packages work. It also proves to be a useful short-term solution for you until you can find a job and get your financial situation back on track!

Most of us will still be in work in 12 months’ time but, with predictions that three million people will be unemployed by the end of 2009, it’s sensible to ask yourself what you’d do if you were one of the unlucky ones.

Advance planning could mean you’ll cope better if the worst happens and will help you to ride out the recession even if your job survives.

Do a debt audit

That means knowing exactly what you owe and how much your debt is costing you. Write down everything you’ve borrowed, from the £100 your mum lent you when you needed unexpected repairs to the outstanding amount on each credit card, any loans and your mortgage. Don’t forget your overdraft – it’s a form of credit too and, if you exceed your limit without the bank’s agreement, it can be expensive. By the end of this exercise you should know which debts are most expensive, so you can target them first.

Raid your savings

Now that interest rates are lower it could make sense to pay off your most expensive debts rather than keeping spare money in savings accounts. This could mean clearing your credit card or overdraft. If you’re coming up to the end of a fixed rate mortgage or you won’t be penalised for overpaying, you may want to pay off a lump of capital. In general, the less you owe when you want to look for a new credit deal or loan, the more likely you are to get a good offer.

Look for better deals

You may not be able to clear everything you owe, either because you don’t have the money or a loan is for a fixed term and you’d incur penalties – but you can look around for better value. Do your research and use price comparison sites to identify the best deals for your circumstances, such as a low interest credit card or zero per cent balance transfer offer. Remember to factor in any costs associated with switching, such as application and transfer fees.

Check your credit report before you apply

This is the personal history of your credit accounts, such as loans, cards and your mortgage. Lenders look at it when you apply to them, so it’s important to ensure that it’s up to date and accurate – any mistakes could mean you don’t get the deals that you want. Online credit monitoring services such as Experian’s CreditExpert offer a free trial that allows you to see your credit report as often as you like.

Don’t commit to long-term expenditure

Digital or satellite television subscriptions, gym membership, a new car loan – these can all seem like essentials but not only is this a bad time to take on new debts, they can lock you in for an extended period and swallow a big chunk of your take-home pay every month. If you must sign up, look for deals that don’t tie you in for long. Ideally, you should be able to opt out within a month or two.

Live as if it’s already happened

Many of us know that our lifestyles must change, at least for a while. Start now by cutting back on everything you can, from clothes and leisure to the cost of food and utilities. It may be tough but it should mean that your borrowing doesn’t spiral and any future low points may not be quite as low. If your new regime means you can clear debts, then put any spare cash aside instead of spending it – it could cushion you through tougher times to come.

Treat yourself – credit crunch-style

It’s human nature to resent deprivation, especially when you’re used to enjoying yourself, so don’t cut out all treats – be sensible and opt for credit crunch pleasures instead of good life extravagances. For example, you could stay with friends or family instead of taking an expensive foreign holiday, swap DVDs instead of going to the cinema, get together with friends to cook a cut-price feast instead of going out to dinner or take a Sunday afternoon walk in the park instead of a trip to the shops. Make sure you have something to look forward to and you’ll find day-to-day budgeting less of a trial.

Benefit from benefits

Tax credits and benefits are more widely available than many people think – you might already be eligible for some support. From housing to childcare and heating to food, there’s a lot of help that many people ignore because they feel there’s a stigma attached to claiming. Think again if you feel this way – go to www.direct.gov.uk for a simple guide and see if you qualify now or would do if your hours were cut or your job was lost.

Ask for advice

If your head is spinning at the to do list or you’re worried your maths isn’t up to all the calculations, there’s help out there. Many websites provide calculators that do the hard work for you, whether you need to work out how much interest you’re paying on your mortgage, what you would save by switching credit cards or simply want to create a new budget. The Financial Services Authority’s Money Made Clear consumer advice site is a good place to start – go to www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk. If you are in financial difficulty you can get free money advice and debt counselling from Citizen’s Advice at www. citizensadvice.org.uk, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) at www.cccs.co.uk or National Debtline at www.nationaldebtline.co.uk.

Keep checking your credit report

Lenders usually check your credit report when they’re deciding whether to make you an offer and what conditions to set, such as the rate of interest. If it shows that you aren’t overburdened with debt and make your repayments on time and in full, you stand a better chance of qualifying for the deals you need. That’s why you should keep an eye on it regularly – a clerical error or misunderstanding could knock your credit status and mean that you end up paying more. The greatest fear among employers is to loose their job. But what should one do, if the greatest of the fears is materialized. The most common reaction is to resort to panic and close oneself in a state of depression, when the best way out is to take the fact calmly and to think of possible solutions.

First of all, you should recall all of the competitors. Try to find businesses that are most related to what you have done. But be sure not to submit your resume to the personnel department or to call them. Try to address the authority directly, offering your services n a business like way. Your experience and your skills will play their role in your employment. Be sure to inform about your experience, use references and useful acquaintances, mention all of your skills and abilities. However try to picture yourself in a good light omitting details that might be used by your potential employer to lower your cost at the job market. If the authority tries to get to the emotional part of your failure, forget about a successful career in this company. You will be constantly reminded about it. Instead try to find a good place in the company that is smaller. This also will help you to rest from the overwhelming noise and rapid tempo of work that makes you feel stressed out. In fact, the statistics says that there is more chance for an employee to professionally grow in a smaller but rapid-growing company, than to get promoted among thousands of colleagues. In these companies flexible and willing people are greatly appreciated. However this option might also be closed to you for some reason. What to do next? Try to find whatever employment possible to cover the bills. You may become a freelancer or get employed on the contract basis with some company. This is a “part-time job” solution. Companies find it easier to hire professionals in terms of contract to take off the responsibility and be sure of the quality of the work done.

Part-time job may become a stable employment if you want to earn for a living, but if you feel like returning to the routine you got used to, part-time employment will give you the opportunity to look for a good full-time job you have always dreamed of. Remember, good offers will not be falling into your hands; you have to hunt them down! Be sure not to include your part-time job into your resume, unless the skills you acquired are useful for your future.

My first 9 years of life were during the great depression following the crash of 1929. This was a time of great hardship. Unemployment was gigantic and included a majority of the population unemployed. I remember, as a small child, after having been tucked into bed, hearing what sounded like crying. I sneeked part way down the stairs to determine what it was. I will never forget hearing my mother weeping (perhaps for the first time in my life) and saying to my father, who then had acquired a temporary job working on the highway for the state for .50 per week, “Harris, it is Wednesday, we have no food for the balance of this week!” I remember Dad consoling her (and unintentionally me too) saying “I will get some food for us”. He reminded her that God had always provided. The crying stopped and I went back up to bed before being caught. Dad’s return the next evening, with a good catch of fish, was the beginning of my expecting a blessing in every downward turn in events. There were many times during that 10 year period when Dad had no Job at all but that gave him more time to hunt and fish and Mom became very proficient in coming up with recipes that used dandelion – a major vegetable during those extremely brutal times.

If you have been laid off, look for the blessing. Have you considered an online job? The internet provides a widened world for the unemployed to seek new opportunities! If you have, are, or plan to look for an online job, may I recommend that you think about more than an online job and consider owning your own online business. People who seek the blessing in their unemployment may find it the ideal time to begin their own business. Unemployment provides one of the most important and difficult to find ingredients for starting an Internet business or any business, time.

If you have time on your hands, invest that time in something that can provide lifetime income from home and in an environment where you are your own boss. Many people try this without success. The primary reason for the lack of success is the lack of time and lack of dedication to work hard, to start your own business. The most frequent reasons for individuals dropping out before they succeed is:

1. they don’t have anyone to lead them through the steps in the process,
2. they can’t focus on the essentials because of the massive distractions on the ‘net,
3. they don’t have a way to plan their steps because they don’t know what they are
4. the distractions are costly and so they have unnecessary expenses from trying a variety of suggestions, many times from people who give bad advice.
5. they cannot budget properly because they are unaware of what is neccessary and what it will cost.

A job represents income. A job can be the foundation from which to grow, to spring into far reaching places. Really a job is what makes America – America! The land of opportunity and advancement. Where people, come from all over the world to pursue their dreams, their hoped for aspirations. For some, this is nothing more than simply finding work. Yes being gainfully employment; for them this will change their lives for the better!

However, for an ever increasing number of others (Americans in particular). Having just a job is proving to be not enough! Times are getting tougher and tougher and the traditional job where you can count on being gainfully employed until retirement; and then, retire with a “good pension” are disappearing every day. The reality is that jobs are not what they used to be and even more so, not enough!

Many loose their jobs and with them their sole source of income even after 10, 15 20 or more years of employment. That presents problems that no one could have predicted let alone prepare for. No income, no retirement no money coming in! What in the world are you going to do? The gut-retching truth, as hard as it is to say is: START OVER! Begin again, sometimes at the age of 30something or 40something and even older! That’s why I say that more than a job is needed.

What used to be considered as extra or second income (even termed “side money”) is proving to be the sole income producers for many to earn a living once they loose their job. Not being able to find steady employment quickly, forces them to consider any way to make ends meet as best they can.

That’s where I think some foresight and good planning is needed today. While still gainfully employed, why not consider building a business. Yes, slowly, step-by-step and over time. This will produce a solid income within a few short years. With this kind of approached such a business will prove to be a life saver when the inevitable happens and you loose your primary source of income! Think about it, growing a business over time makes a lot of good sense! It will prove to be stronger and more secure than any retirement or pension plan ever could. That’s because you control it. It is yours; you own it. There are many, many businesses to choose from one very good one that comes to mind is called Glimpse!. Why not look into one good one and start building your business today!!

You have been out of work for five months now. You did nothing wrong. You were one of the better performers, but your boss kept his favorites. It is not fair. You are mad, and you tell your friends how unfair it was. They agree with you, which only builds your anger. To make matters worse, you are having trouble getting interviews. Those that you do get don’t call you back for a second interview. WHY NOT???

Perhaps it is because no one wants to hire an angry person. You are angry at the situation, and you have good reason to be. But, no matter how hard you try to conceal this anger, it shows through in the interview. I have interviewed numerous people who I can tell have a chip on their shoulder, just by the way they walk into my office. I don’t want to hire someone like that. And in today’s economy, I don’t have to.

My suggestion is to delay your anger until you get a new position. Then you can get angry. For now, your focus has to be on getting a job, and in order to do that you need to stay positive. Just like you make sure you wear the right outfit to an interview and your shoes are polished, you must also bring the right attitude. You need to be positive, cheerful, and energetic. You are not a good enough actor to hide your anger. Therefore you can’t be angry.

Here’s what I suggest:

Don’t be angry, and tell your spouse/significant other not to be angry. What happened is in the past, and you and people around you need to look forward. You can’t stay positive if others around you are angry for you. Don’t be afraid to tell them to stop, and tell them why.
Get into a routine. Get up on time, eat breakfast, and then go to the computer and telephone to start your job…which right now is finding a job.
Read the paper first thing in the morning every day.
Start an exercise routine. Physical exercise is good for the body, and great for the mind. (There are numerous articles that support this premise.)
Start a new hobby. Try gardening or woodworking.
Get involved in a charitable organization. Besides giving you something to do, (and this is another venue for networking) you will be exposed to people who are much worse off than you, and most of them have a positive attitude.

So remember, stay positive. When you get your next job, you can get angry then. But maybe, just maybe, you will realize all things worked out for the best. Good Luck.
