Have you ever had a “bad day at work”
and a colleague
or friend says:
“That’s Why They Call It Work?”
According to Webster:
Definition of WORK

Has Anyone Ever Said To You that:
“Finding A Job Is A Job?”
Definition of JOB
something that has to be done : task (2) : an undertaking requiring unusual exertion -it was a real job to talk over that noise b : a specific duty, role, or function c : a regular remunerative position d chiefly British : state of affairs —usually used with bad or good -it was a good job you didn’t hit the old man — E. L. Thomas
During the past couple of years, all of us have found that “Work” and “Jobs” have been our main focus because we need the financial security that these two words have provided us for all these years. Because of the shortage of finding “work” and “jobs” today, many of us are suffering greatly, by not being able to provide for our family in the usual manner that we have known all these many years and I am no exception.
Opportunities that we once depended on to fulfill these two critical functions in our lives just are not being created rapidly enough and we find ourselves in very difficult times. Not only are the companies that we once depended upon for these two functions struggling, but even if

The Job Market has changed and Job Seekers Today are Having A Hard Time Finding A Job That Fit Their Talents
they are surviving, they are not ready to add new employees to their payrolls.
I have talked quite a bit about Career Redirections. With the situation that only one job is being created for every 5 people looking for work coupled with the rapid changes that our society itself is experiencing, each of us must consider alternatives to our “old career choices” and adapt them to what is going on in the world today. We have learned some valuable lessons through this recession and we have learned them the hard way.
* We no longer should depend on just one source for our income, but consider developing multiple streams of income for ourselves and our future.
* We are living in a time that does not offer the individual a stable economic environment and we must take responsibility to ensure that our personal livelihood is safe as we can possibly create for ourselves.
* Many work opportunities that were once in demand are either changing or being absorbed into other job functions.
As a baby boomer, I would like nothing better than to see my retirement opportunity in my personal near future plans, but that vision seems to have vanished over the past couple of years. This has happened to many of us and we must accept and figure out what is our next step for our future. My personal options are limited because of life choices and other factors, so as I have said before, my past year has been one of learning and creating a new “career plan” for myself.
Recently, a “friend” said to me, “A business is just a hobby until you get paid for it”. Actually, he is an entrepreneur and is my internet service provider. So, I have been thinking about his comment lately. Anything that we start, especially as an entrepreneur, goes through a period of not making money, but we still have to put the work in it to make it produce results. I am sure that in the beginning, he had to connect towers and market his company and at that time, he was not producing financial results. I would also guess, that he did not consider that a hobby at that time.

With his comment in mind, let’s return to “Finding A Job Is A Job”. Consider, discovering what your perfect job would be for your future. How could you create something to bring you financial security and a sense of accomplishment in the days to come. Of course, you do need income, but if you are spending time just sending resumes and not getting results, what if you take just a bit of your time to discover something new and different that would give you a “job” for your future.
Suppose you spent some time and found something that would use your skills and desires and began building a career that would create a future for yourself that would bring you passion and joy because it was something that you personally discovered as a perfect fit for your own talents, likes, interest and skills that only you possess.
